Blueprint is not dead. A series of exhibitions Blue Innovations was created on the occasion of blueprint being enrolled on UNESCO’s list of intangible world cultural heritage. It shows new ways of traditional blueprint in the Czech Republic and imprints them into a print catalogue.
This catalogue displays various approaches of textile designers and uncovers what unites them: the preference of manual work, craft, ties to the tradition and originality. It is obvious that we, too, felt these values while designing the graphic side of the catalogue. It is under-printed with a pretty hue of blue-green color, which, in the blueprint technique, corresponds with the emulsion that is being used before submerging into the deep dark blue. We used the dark blue hue later on during typesetting with the fonts Rhymes and Graebenbach.
